Skies the Limit

“I want Prince to always have and be able to reflect in having pride of self, pride in heritage, and pride of accomplishments.”

Prince went for a photo shoot. Another one.  He was his usual bubbly self. Ready before the cameraman. Light’s, Camera, Action!

We really enjoy shoots in the studio. They are always fun and allows us to be really creative. We did many dress changes and used tons of props. I was prepared. But this photo shoot was particularly important because it captures not just an image but a feeling I want Prince to always have and be able to reflect in having pride of self, pride in heritage, and pride of accomplishments.

Our children are never to young to let them know their melanin, whatever shade, is beautiful and they matter. This is especially important for our young men and ladies of color because black lives (young black lives) do matter.

As parents, extended family, and family friends we are our children’s first teachers before they are exposed to the educational framework of the school systems and the influences of their peers many experiences, they are influenced by you and me. We must love the individuals our young ones become, instill in them their history so they can take pride and be proud of who they are, and praise them for their numerous accomplishments. They need this love like they need air, food, and water to help them grow and have the confidence to take charge and direction of their lives and dreams.

Prince really enjoyed this shoot and we both will have memories for years to come and goals to reach as we continue on this journey because the skies the limit.
